PIXMA MX922 intel vs silicon chip question

Im currently using an Apple M3 Max based MacBook Pro on Tahoe 26.5. Lately ive started getting some pop up messages that soon Intel based programs will not be supported. I do have Windows for Mac and I know I will eventually have to upgrade that. I also looked in my system info for my Canon Pixma and saw this:

I use the Canon IJ Scan Utility daily and am wondering if when the change is mad by Apple, will I no longer be able to use it? Do I need a silicon version? Also, what are there so many Canon IJScanner showing?? Tks!

I have exactly the same question YumYum with an additional couple. The IJ Scan utility is used to start and coordinate the scanning process and that seems to be the thing that won't work after OS27 comes into play. Searching on the Canon Site, there seems t be no reference to their decision to update their App to a Universal/Apple Silicon. That popup you AND I are getting is a message from Apple telling us to go to Canon to get the update-of which there is none. I'm not sure if the scanner will be recognized either, but I am guessing that it will be but will have to be operated through ScanTools or something like that.

Canon does mention a Lite version of the IJ Scan Utility but then says it's not compatible with the printer/scanner/FAX we both use.

It's a shame that Canon seems not be be supportive of their products. I just seems like the smart thing to do, since I will never buy another Canon product if they desert us like this, would be to make their Lite software, which I think I saw WAS Apple Silicon compatible, able to talk to and control THEIR older All-in-one devices.

Hopefully, someone will read this and figure out how to help thousands of owners of Canon devices and newer Apple computers.

Any item identified as "Universal" is compatible with Apple Silicon.

Thank you. But i also need to print and print utility reads intel and i see no mac version. And why are there so many IJ scanners listed? I have only 1 app installed.

so I have printer installed as airport and canon version. Just not sure why so many scanners listed for only 2 protocols. Mine is the Wm printer for me and the other is on my wife's Mac.

If any print command does not get confused and try to pick a printer that isn't there, I don't think the duplicates are causing an issue, am I correct?

No issues yet. Just wondering.
why so many and why do i have intel stuff on mac. Printer programs usually also take up a lot of space too. Duplication = wasted space?

PCs don't usually install two complete copies of the same print program.
