PIXMA G3260 Windows won't accept Canon driver

I'm having tons of trouble re-installing my printer on Win 11. Windows will not accept the Canon printer driver for this printer. I've tried manually installing the driver and the Canon app fails and Device manager says that the MS default driver is the best. Will Canon update the driver?

This is the latest driver for your printer. It is a Windows 11 driver. You need to uninstall your printer, if using a printer cable disconnect it. Go to settings printers and scanners, choose your printer, then click remove. You should also go to control panel programs and features and uninstall the Canon Drivers if still there. Then download and run this program: https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAxMDkxNDAz&cmp=ABR&lang=EN if using cable do not connect until instructed to do so. Do not use the Windows update driver program, most of the time it will say the best driver is already installed, for printers, scanners, video cards, it makes no difference.

Use Canon PIXMA G3260 with Windows “Microsoft IPP Class Driver” (or install using Canon IJ Setup Utility, not Device Manager).

Is this a new computer you are using? Does it have an ARM/Snapdragon processor?

If it does, that is the problem. Windows 11 for ARM is different than the "normal" Windows 11, which runs on Intel/AMD processors. Canon, with some exceptions, is not supporting ARM processors well, which is a shame on Canon.

Unless a driver clearly says it's for Windows ARM, it will not install. You have to use Windows' built-in driver (default) driver. Be aware that it may not provide all the functionality that you'd expect.

Is your computer in S mode? If it is you can only install apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Downloads from anywhere else will not install.

To disable Windows S mode, go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, then select "Go to the Store" under the "Switch to Windows 10 Home" or "Switch to Windows 11 Home" section. Click the "Get" button on the Microsoft Store page to confirm the switch

Hi, Derrick. I still can't connect properly. Does the printer store the WiFi password even though it's removed from the PC because it connected automatically?

It should however you can check it from the printer control panel:

To manually connect your Canon PIXMA G3260 to a Wi-Fi network, use the printer's LCD screen: press the Setup button, navigate to Wi-Fi setup, select Manual connect, choose your wireless network name from the list, and type in your password using the control panel. [

Follow these step-by-step instructions:

Turn on the printer and ensure the power lamp is lit.
Press the Setup button (the icon with a screwdriver and pliers).
Use the arrow keys to select Wi-Fi setup and press the OK button.
Scroll using the arrow buttons and select Manual connect, then press OK.
The printer will search for wireless routers. Once your network name (SSID) appears, select it and press OK.
When prompted to enter the password, use the control panel to input your network key.
- Tip: Press the Setup button to toggle between lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
After entering the password, press and hold the OK button for at least two seconds.
Select Yes and press OK to apply the settings.
When the screen confirms the connection, press OK, then press the COPY button to return to the main screen.

I still can't connect properly. Does the printer store the password? It still connects when I turn it on.

The printer stores the WIFI SSID and password.
