    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,I am experiencing an issue with my Canon MF643Cdw printer on macOS Tahoe. The printer connected and printing correctly, however the macOS print dialog does not show any option for enabling/disabling 2-sided (duplex) print&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What I have already checked and tested:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;AirPrint and IPP are enabled on the printer&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Bonjour/mDNS discovery works correctly&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The printer appears properly in macOS and CUPS&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Printing works successfully&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The printer’s web UI has 2-sided printing enabled&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Duplex support exists in the driver (duplex2/2-Sided Printing: none DuplexNoTumble DuplexTumble)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I can manually enable duplex through terminal using:&lt;BR /&gt;lpoptions -p PRINTER_NAME -o duplex2=DuplexNoTumble&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;
&lt;P&gt;However, the macOS print UI still does not show any duplex/2-sided printing option anywhere&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Rebooted printer and Mac multiple times&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;The issue appears to be specifically related to the Canon driver UI on macOS Tahoe, because duplex functionality technically works through terminal commands, but the graphical print interface does not expose the option.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Could you please advise if this is a known compatibility issue with macOS Tahoe or if there is an updated UFR II driver/plugin available?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;H2&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Steps to Fix Missing Duplex (Two-Sided Printing) Option on macOS&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H2&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I’m not entirely sure why these steps resolved the issue, but this was the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;only method that successfully restored the duplex (two-sided printing) option&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; for my Canon printer on macOS.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;1. Edit the Printer PPD File&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Open the Terminal and run the following command (replace &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;PrinterName&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; with the exact name of your printer):&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;sudo nano /etc/cups/ppd/PrinterName.ppd&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2. Enable the Duplexer Option&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In the PPD file, locate the section containing printer settings (for example, near the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;*LanguageLevel&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; entry) and add the following line:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;*Duplexer: True&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3. Save and Exit&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In Nano:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Press &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Ctrl + O&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; to save the file&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Press &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Enter&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; to confirm&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Press &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Ctrl + X&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; to exit the editor&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;4. Restart the CUPS Printing Service&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Run the following commands in Terminal:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
sudo launchctl start org.cups.cupsd&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;5. Reset the Printing System&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Open &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;System Settings&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; → &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Printers &amp;amp; Scanners&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hold the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Control&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; key and right-click in the printer list area&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Select &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Reset Printing System&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;6. Reinstall the Canon Driver&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Download and install the latest printer driver from the official Canon website.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;7. Restart Your Mac&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;After the driver installation is complete, restart your Mac.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;H3&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;8. Re-Add the Printer&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/H3&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Add the printer again in &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Printers &amp;amp; Scanners&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
