If you are connected to a pc and lost your connection, turn the printer on and reboot your laptop or pc. If that does not restore you connection answer these questions:

What operating system do you use? If a laptop, do you have a usb/printer cable?

Unless you need wireless, use a printer cable, far, far, less trouble. Many times if a 2.4ghz wireless signal is weak and loses connection even for a few seconds, during a print job the spooler fills up and then the printer just sits there doing nothing or spits out blank pages. I owed a computer tech company for businesses, and I had one fast rule for all my clients (and some were quite large) Never connect a printer wirelessly.
