Hello,

I just had a new Pixma printer scanner delivered, my model is TS3750i.

When I try to find the supported drives and software for Linux Mint (Debian), I can only find other close models, like TS3722. Are these the same? Why are drivers for TS3750i not found on the support page?

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-ts3722-wireless-home-all-in-one-printer

Kind Regards,

Ryszard

I found a windows driver for your printer, which does not appear to be sold in the States:

https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer/products/printers/pixma/ts-series/pixma-ts3750i.html?type=drivers&language=EN&os=Windows%2011

along with the IJ printer/scanner app Linux support

https://wiki.debian.org/Canon#Extracting_and_Accessing_the_Files_in_the_Printer_Driver_Tarball

I also found this info about your printer and Linux:

Compatibility of Canon PIXMA TS3750i with Linux

General Compatibility

The Canon PIXMA TS3750i can be used with Linux, particularly with distributions like Linux Mint and Ubuntu. However, the availability of specific drivers may vary.

Installation Process

Driverless Printing:

Starting with Linux Mint 21, driverless printing and scanning are supported using the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). This means the printer can often be detected and added automatically without needing additional drivers.

Manual Driver Installation:

If the printer does not work properly with the default driverless setup, you may need to manually install drivers. This can involve:

Connecting the printer via USB for initial setup.

Using the Printers application to add the printer.

Downloading the appropriate driver from the Canon website if necessary.

Troubleshooting

If issues arise, you may need to remove any existing IPP support to allow the use of specific drivers.

Ensure that your system has the latest version of CUPS and Ghostscript installed, as these are essential for printer functionality.

Conclusion

While the Canon PIXMA TS3750i is compatible with Linux, users may need to follow specific steps for installation and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality.

Explore More

What are the specific drivers needed for Canon PIXMA TS3750i on Linux?

To use the Canon PIXMA TS3750i on Linux, you typically need the IJ printer driver, which can be installed via the command
sudo apt install cnijfilter2
. Additionally, if you want to enable scanning, you may need to install the ScanGear MP driver using
sudo apt install scangearmp2
.

I
