      <description>&lt;P&gt;I need the drivers and software for a Pixma MP170 my os is windows 10(64). I moved house&amp;nbsp; and cannot find the cd any more, lost it with the move. I looked on the canon website but could not find it. I am hoping that somebody here could derect me a link&amp;nbsp; where i could download the driver and software thank you if this is posseble.       <description>&lt;P&gt;My information says that the MP170 driver is not in that file and a Windows 10 driver is no longer available from Canon. I cannot find one on archived driver file sites that I trust either. Unless Windows itself has it, and if it did it would see the printer when connected using a printer cable, and install the driver.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;thank you for the driver, it installed,&amp;nbsp; the printer&amp;nbsp; I can see in device man. I also can see it in printers and scanners where it says default error., the printer print good on his own,&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;without conected to the pc.&amp;nbsp; changed cables same result, changed to another usbport same result. when I want to print a email out it does not&amp;nbsp; show up&amp;nbsp; in the list of the printer page,&amp;nbsp; could you recoment any other things I can try thanks for all your help&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Did you try to print a test page from printers and scanners? If you saw a default error there, I don't think there is anything else you can do, the printer is no longer supported by Canon or Windows.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Did you PROPERLY install the printer in Windows? Typically with a USB connection printer, you install the driver BEFORE connecting it to the computer. The installation routine tells you what to do next.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you started by connecting, then running installation, you need to UNINSTALL the printer software in Control Panel &amp;gt;&amp;gt; Programs and Features ( maybe Add/Remove Programs in Win10) to clear it from Device Manager&amp;nbsp; and Printers and Scanners.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Then restart the computer and install the printer again.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;By the way, was the printer working well before you moved?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;We understand you'd like to continue using your (17 yr old) printer with your current W11 OS.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This may of may not be possible. The last OS officially supported was Windows 7.&amp;nbsp; In some cases, drivers from an earlier version of Windows can be used and might work. This is not always the case, and the drivers because of their age, can stop working without warning or notice as the newer OS is updated. This is a fact.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What you have now is a non functioning printer instance.&amp;nbsp; Here are the steps you can try.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Disconnect the printers USB cable from your system.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Open the Printers applet under settings. Remove all instances of the printer.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Now open Programs and Features.&amp;nbsp; Uninstall &lt;STRONG&gt;all&lt;/STRONG&gt; Canon drivers and utilities.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Important:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;Restart your computer.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Now run this file:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAwMjI5NzAx&amp;amp;cmp=ABR&amp;amp;lang=EN" target="_blank"&gt;https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAwMjI5NzAx&amp;amp;cmp=ABR&amp;amp;lang=EN&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Do not&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;connect the USB cable to your printer until prompted to do so by the installer.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Once complete, run this utility:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDkwMDAwMTczODAx&amp;amp;cmp=ABR&amp;amp;lang=EN" target="_blank"&gt;https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDkwMDAwMTczODAx&amp;amp;cmp=ABR&amp;amp;lang=EN&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Restart the system again. Test printing and scanning.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If this works, great.&amp;nbsp; If not, you have 2 options.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;One is to try VueScan by hamrick software.&amp;nbsp; Its free to try and you can test it to see if it works without obligation.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The second..&amp;nbsp; you will need to accept that your &lt;STRONG&gt;17 yr&lt;/STRONG&gt; old printer is simply not compatible with your new OS.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes I did try to run a test page, the printer did not response my dochter brougt over her printer and it woild not installed either,so I am starting to think there is some where a setting in my computer that has changed with a update.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;maybe a windows update I have find out where and what changded I will keep trying to instal the printer but first find out what setting changed.
