PIXMA TR8520 no longer connects to Wi-Fi

My PIXMA TR8520 printer will no longer connect to my WIFI & Network. Is it possible to obtain a new network card to replace the internal one?

I've gone through all the troubleshooting options with no luck. The printer is about 6-years old and works perfectly fine otherwise. I can't find any specs about the internal network card on it so don't know if it's possible to replace it.

Greetings,

The TR8520 supports a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi broadcast that uses WPA2 encryption. Please ensure your network meets these requirements

Tips. If you're dual or tri-band router uses the same SSID name for all broadcasts, try giving each a unique name. You can also temporarily disable the other broadcast(s) while making a connection, then re-enable when successful.

To my knowledge, the NIC on your printer is not user replaceable. You can try calling the Canon parts department, but I don't believe it's possible.

Thanks for the response Rick. Yes my router meets all the requirements and encryption. Printer has connected for several years with no issues. I was afraid the answer might be that the NIC isn’t replaceable but was hoping someone might a better idea than buying a new printer. This one works fine when I connect it directly to my laptop w/USB!

Of course, why would Canon give us an option to replace a NIC when we could just buy s new printer instead. I appreciate your response, Rick.

I was just going to ask this question, it worked when I lived in a house a few months ago and hasn’t worked since I moved into an apartment. My WiFi works fine on all of my other devices but I cannot print from my iPhone now.

You have your own 2.4ghz WIFI in your apartment? You have admin access to the router?

I have the router in my apartment so I’ll have to call the internet provider to ask about the 2.4 ghz WiFi.
