I got this printer in 2024 and haven't been able to set it up until now due to reasons. When doing the softwear I get up to stage 3 when I get the notification from MP Drivers "The specified pathname is too long. Change the pathname to within 180 characters." I didn't enter any name. What does this mean and how can I fix it please help.

Ho bee77,

This error means that the path to the location where you have the file saved is more than 180 characters deep.

C:\users\username\downloads\some folder\another folder...... Path depth greater than 180 characters

Try moving the file to the root of your C drive.

C:\..... Which will be a path depth below 180 characters.

What the program is saying is that the path name is too long, because the file location is too many levels down in the directory structure. That's hard to do. Where are they? Solve this by putting the installation files on your desktop. After doing the installation you can save the install files anywhere you want for future need.
