Purchased a new PC with Win11 and wanted to install my Pro9000 Mark II printer. Unfortunately Canon no longer supports this printer. After trying numerous attempts with different drivers and options, compatibility mode, admin, they all failed. Finally I met with success and thought I'd share what worked for me to hopefully help others avoid numerous trial and error attempts.

1) When looking for drivers, go to the Canon site for this model printer, and select drivers. The Canon site will detect you're running Win11, however no drivers will be shown since there are none. Select Win10 x64 instead and you'll see 4 versions of drivers.

2) Download pd68-win-pro9000mkii-2_75-ej.exe. Yea, I know its an old driver and for Japan (ej), but it doesn't really matter. Download this version of the driver.

3) Right click the driver in your download folder, and run as Administrator. (Not sure its required but its what I did and it worked. Not a big deal if you do.)

4) Go through the menu and when it says to plug in the USB cable with printer on, do it. Wait for the PC to recognize the printer and it will fail to do so.

5) Now go to Settings - Bluetooth & devices - Printers & scanners and select Add a printer or scanner, and click the blue Add device box.

6) You will see the Canon Pro9000 II series, select it and follow the menus.

The printer should be installed.

What kind of CPU does the new computer have? If it's not an Intel or an AMD, but is an ARM/Snapdragon, you have a problem. Canon hasn't been supporting ARM processors well or at all. If the driver does not specifically say it's for ARM/Snapdragon it will not install/function. You will be limited to whatever function Windows 11's built-in drivers provide.
