Greetings,

Have you tried running the master setup under software for Tahoe 26?

https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer/products/printers/pixma/g-series/pixma-g3470.html?type=software&language=EN&os=macOS%20Tahoe%2026

I don't see any drivers packages listed since Ventura. You're not going to get full functionality from the product using AirPrint so this is probably your best bet.

Canon PIXMA G3470 Firmware Unable to Update

I am trying to update the firmware on the G3470 in the hopes that it will fix some of the issues I have been having with this priniter (it often just stops printing mid-way through a page and never recovers).
I am using this firmware download: https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer/products/printers/pixma/g-series/pixma-g3470.html?type=firmware

I have tried with both a Mac and a PC. Both apps- both report that the current firmware is 4.020, and the new firmware is 2.050. I think this is the reason I am unable to update (the current firmware seems newer than the actual newer firmware). I suspect this is a bug with the version numbering. Any help/suggestions?

Greetings,

A firmware update is not going to fix the behavior you describe. Typically a behavior like that is caused by a software issue or communication problem. The installer v1.2 contains v2.050 FW which includes scanning quality enhancements for 3x70 series printers. If your FW is 4.020 then you already have anything that was included previously. You cannot downgrade printer FW by design.

How is your printer connected and to what?

What OS version and build are you using your printer with?

While this is not a US product, I'll do my best to try and assist.

Thanks so much Rick

How is your printer connected and to what? It is connected via Wi-fi

What OS version and build are you using your printer with? I'm using MacOs Tahoe and Windows 11 26200.7171 - the issue persists with both computers.
I had a printer in the same office previously and never had any issues with printing over Wifi. Scanning works perfectly currently
