No Intel / x64 driver for Canon MegaTank PIXMA G7020

I am on Window 10.

I have downloaded and installed the driver from the canon website:

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-g7020

But the hardware properties of the scanner are still using the generic Microsoft driver from 2006

Which is limiting the scanning to 600 DPI rather than the 1200 DPI the device can support.

When I look at the drivers installed in windows:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository

I only see folders for:

g7000f6.inf_amd64_
g7000p6.inf_amd64_
g7000sc.inf_amd64_
g7000u.inf_amd64_

And my machine is an Intel, not AMD.

Where can I get the latest drivers for an Intel machine?

There are no Canon drivers specific to any one pc or laptop, just for the operating system loaded on the device. Using the same support site, make sure you download software and utilities which includes all drivers and scanner functions, which the drivers download does not.

I have downloaded and installed the drivers, software and utilities.

Windows is refusing to use the manufacturer drivers, and using a generic driver from 2006 which is limiting the scanner DPI

For clarity how is your printer connected and to what? USB, WiFi, or ethernet?
