&lt;P&gt;If the scanner works while the printer is awake, but you are unable to scan once it goes to sleep. It looks like a communication issue over the network or the settings on the printer. You can try &lt;A href="https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-6512-zz-SSM-450-enUS/contents/devu-set_menu_list_1-mng-data.html#0926_h2_05" target="_self"&gt;resetting&lt;/A&gt; the network settings to default and then reconnecting. If&amp;nbsp;you continue to have the same issue, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to check the network environment to see what is going on.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>ImageCLASS MF453dw Bonjour/mDNS not working?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have an ImageCLASS MF453dw multifunction B/W printer at home. It looks like after the latest firmware update Bonjour/mDNS stopped working. I am looking at the services being advertised over mDNS on the printer's subnet and don't see them any longer. Has anyone here observed the same or maybe even has a solution?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Relevant configuration on the printer:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Wired Ethernet connection.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Network Settings --&amp;gt; IPv4 Settings --&amp;gt; mDNS Settings --&amp;gt; Use mDNS: On&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Network Settings --&amp;gt; IPv6 Settings: Off&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Network Settings --&amp;gt; AirPrint Settings: On&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Troubleshooting steps taken:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Rebooted printer.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Toggled the relevant settings Off/On.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Reset network settings to factory.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Connected computer directly to a printer with a cable and used dns-sd (macOS) and avahi-browse (Linux) to monitor mDNS advertisements.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Tried to capture packets on port 5353/udp.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Results:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;The printer does not advertise services over mDNS.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;The printer is not discoverable by devices if it is in the sleep mode.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;The printer is discoverable when when it is online, probably using SDP or some other discovery protocol.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Running the scanner software does not wake up the printer from sleep any longer.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;</description>
