topic imageCLASS D1550 not seen by computer or Wi-Fi network in Printer Software & Networking

I have a Canon D1550MF (2017) and have two problems. I installed the software choosing the USB connection option and installation appeared complete. However:

The printer does not appear in Devices and Printers after installation

I want to connect it to my home wireless network but I can’t. “Select Wired/Wireless LAN” and “Wireless LAN Settings” are greyed out on the panel.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled several times with no luck. I'm getting ready to toss it out the window.

At the least I want Windows 11 to recognize it. Wi-fi would be nice but not necessary.

Greetings,

You can use the printer with a wireless network. The printer supports 2.4Ghz wireless that uses WPA2 encryption. Your network must support this broadcast and security standard in order for the printer to connect. Please confirm your network meets these requirements.

You can manually connect the printer from the printers LCD. Select the wireless icon. The printer will display a list of networks within range. Select the SSID and then enter the network password. If you try to connect to an unsupported wireless broadcast (5G, 6G, 7G) or a broadcast that uses an incompatible security encryption (WPA3) the printer will not connect.
