topic PIXMA MG2520 not printing with new laptop, printer not responding error in Printer Software & Networking

My model MG2520 works fine with my old laptop, a Toshiba Satellite, running Windows 10, (so it's not a cable or power issue) but it won't print with my new Lenovo Ideapad1, running Windows 11. I took the Lenovo out of 'S mode' and downloaded the Canon drivers. I manually set the MG2520 as my default printer. I did a hard reset of the printer (power cycle), I restarted the laptop, etc. I believe it is recognizing the printer (THAT took a while) because when I try to print a Word document I see the printer name and green check and the word 'Ready'. But when I hit print (or send a test page), it just says 'Error'. No error type or number. I also get a pop-up window from the printer telling me it was unable to print the document but not reason why, other than 'Printer not responding' and a yellow exclamation point.

Side note; my gf also uses this printer without any problems and she is using an HP, running Windows 11. // Side note II; Running the trouble shooter in the Get Help App literally does nothing?

I'm stumped. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
