GX2020 won't stay online with my MacOS 15 or phone

Every time the printer shuts itself off it goes offline and I can't get it online again.

When I try to use the WiFi set up it tells me to follow prompts on my Iphone or Mac Pro computer but no prompts appear.

I've had this printer for several days and I still haven't been able to print anything.

When a network device (like a printer) is turned off, its normal for its status to change to offline.

To assist you better, we need some additional information please.

Version and build of the OS you are using the printer with? (you mentioned a MAC)

How is the printer connected and to what? (Wi-Fi)??

If you are using a wireless connection, the brand and model of your router?

Are you using the same SSID name for your broadcasts (2.4, 5G etc)?

MacBookPro running OS Sequoia 15.6.1
How is the printer connected and to what? (Wi-Fi)??

If you are using a wireless connection, the brand and model of your router?
The router (which was supplied by AT&T) appears to be Arris BGW210
Are you using the same SSID name for your broadcasts (2.4, 5G etc)?
I don't understand this question. But, if it helps, we have a single family network which operates our computers, phones and Bluetooth devices.

I'm familiar with the BGW210. FYI, that gateway is 6 years old now. You may want to call AT&T and ask him if they'll refresh your unit. The device you get often depends on the plan you subscribe to but it's worth inquiring.

Most routers, including the BGW210, will allow you to use unique SSID names for each broadcast. The 210 only has two bands.

Example

myhouse2.4

myhouse5G

Etc. These can be whatever you want.

Things that can affect connectivity.

The printer's proximity to the router. Obstructions such as walls, plumbing or heating ducts, Having the router in the basement and the printer upstairs is another example. Note, different bands offer different performance. A 2.4 GHz broadcast provides farther broadcast range, however at a reduced bandwidth in comparison to a 5Ghz broadcast which offers higher (faster) bandwidth but a shorter broadcast range. If proximity or obstructions are an issue, ensuring that you are connecting to the router's 2.4 GHz broadcast might help as it offers the greatest broadcast range that still provides enough bandwidth for printing tasks. If all of the broadcasts are using the same name, the router might not be using the best broadcast for your situation. Giving each broadcast a unique name would allow you to connect the printer to the strongest broadcast (2.4Ghz) in this case.
