imageCLASS MF642 will Scan from my iMac M1, will NOT scan from my MacBook Air M1,

Hi. Both computers on same network. The printer can scan from the iMac, and its driver version is 10.19.17. I would like to put this driver on the MacBook Air, but there is no option to open a the scanner from the Macbook's print driver, and the scanner cannot be found on the network. I can't get that driver V. 10.19.16 anymore on the Canon site. It's a Bonjour driver.

The MacBook Air has this one:

CNMF642C/643C/644C-AirPrint, and it's version 4. I thought AirPrint was made for IOS, not macOS - but I really don't know for sure.

That is the only one available now on the Canon site when I try to download drivers for my Imageclass MF642cd.

Please help! I really appreciate anything anybody can add to help.
