    <description>&lt;P&gt;I've now uninstalled everything, reset the MFP and have started over, then rebooted everything. The drivers I installed are MF460SeriesMFDriverV7851W64 and winmfscanutilityv12102 (both zipped folders). I can now print, but when I try to scan to email, I'm getting a message that says that my scan/fax settings aren't set up. I've tried using the online manual but find it very difficult to navigate. I did select to use Remote UI, but nowhere did I see how to do any setup other than add a PIN. What am I missing now?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I just bought an ImageClass MF465dw. When I set it up, it didn't appear that I need remote UI, so it didn't set it up intiially. Now when I try to scan it's telling me that "email/I-fax settings are not configured in Remote UI" and to contact an administrator. I've searched the manual high and low, but I can't figure out how to go back and set up Remote UI. All I need this to do is print and scan, so if you could help me get that set up it would be wonderful. Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Here are some general guidelines.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You are not required to set up access to the remote Ui&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can scan from the printers LCD, from a computer or the Canon Print app&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I would however recommend you set up access, here's why.&amp;nbsp; The remote UI gives you access to enhanced configuration and features.&amp;nbsp; Examples are Scan to Email, Scan to Destination (folder or network destination), an address book and one touch functions enhancing the user experience.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In order to provide more details, we need some additional information.&amp;nbsp; What operating system version and build are you using the printer with?&amp;nbsp; How is the printer connected, and to what?&amp;nbsp; What software did you install to support the device?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Here is a link to the support portal for your printer.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm using Windows 11 home, version 24H2. I used the recommended drivers from the Canon site. There were three that were recommended. Master setup, MF Scan Utility, and Windows 64 bit MFDrivers. The printer is connected wirelessly and prints just fine. I did go through this documentation&amp;nbsp; and set the administrator PIN (based on the article you recommended). Again, I'd like to now set up Remote UI, but I can't find anything in the documentation that addresses this if you didn't do it during setup. (Scan to email is a must for me.)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your reply.&amp;nbsp; You've installed the correct drivers.&amp;nbsp; MF Print driver that includes ScanGear and the MF Scan Utility v1.21.0.2.&amp;nbsp; The Master Setup is not required, but it doesn't hurt that you've installed it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Please confirm you are able to open the MF Scan Utility?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Optional but recommended.&amp;nbsp; Log into the admin portal of your router and look at the list of attached devices.&amp;nbsp; Note the IP address assigned to the printer.&amp;nbsp; I recommend assigning a static IP to your printer so it always uses the same IP.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Otherwise, open a browser (any) and enter the IP address in the address bar (at top) and press enter.&amp;nbsp; The log in for the remote UI will display.&amp;nbsp; Select the System Manager radio button and enter the PIN you set.&amp;nbsp; Press log in. Example my printers IP is 192.168.1.99&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;The printer is connected wirelessly. Did you follow my optional but recommended suggestion and assign a static IP to the printer?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The reason why you lost connectivity to the printer is because the DHCP lease on your wireless network likely expired (while you were away) and your router gave the printer another IP address on your return.&amp;nbsp; By assigning a static IP, the destination never changes.&amp;nbsp; This only has to be done once.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can see what IP address the router has assigned to the printer by logging into the router's admin portal. Look at the list of attached devices.&amp;nbsp; Since you're going to be in there, I would take that opportunity to assign that IP to the printer.&amp;nbsp; You don't want to have to do this over and over.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Armed with that information, you can open a web browser, enter that IP address in the address bar You will be presented with the remote UI login for the printer. Select the system manager radio button and enter the PIN you set.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;As mentioned earlier, if you let me know the name of the mail host you're going to use, I'm happy to try and help provide the server settings for scan to email configuration.&amp;nbsp; I have a bunch of screenshots saved which can be used for guidance.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I will post after you reply.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Yes.&amp;nbsp; Accessing devices on your local LAN could be blocked by your employer. Check your VPN client for a setting called "split tunnel" or similar. This allows you to communicate with devices on your local LAN while you're connected to corporate VPN.&amp;nbsp; For additional security, some employers by default route all traffic through the VPN which precludes you from using devices on your local network, like a printer.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can also talk to your IT department.&amp;nbsp; They may be able to enable the split tunnel feature which would allow you to use local devices.&amp;nbsp; It just depends, some employers allow this and others don't.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I didn't assign a static IP because I don't know how. I can see the IP address on the printer menu (on the actual printer), and I can see it in the router's admin portal (and yes, they match and haven't changed), but there doesn't seem to be one listed when I look on the computer. Shoudl I type in in there under printers and devices? I pinged the printer while I was in the admin portal and that was successful. However, I don't see anywhere that it gives me an option to change it. I've included a screenshot below.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The printer, it turns out, doesn't print when I'm logged into my VPN. As soon as I log out, it prints. I'll treat that as separate issue once this is resolved, as scanning is priority for me.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I"m about to give up on this and go buy a different brand, but I really liked my last one (D550). I tried to simplify and hardwire the printer. I set it to wired LAN and then I rebooted everything. Then I couldn't print or scan. As such I set back up wireless and now I can print if I'm not on VPN and still can't scan to email because it's still saying that I haven't set that up yet. That's what I need to know. What do I need to do to set up the scanner?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Using my images as a guide you can see the path to each of the pages where you will input the email configuration and port settings.&amp;nbsp; Note, I'm using Gmail as my mail host.&amp;nbsp; Some mail hosts require that you use an app password.&amp;nbsp; If you let me know who the mail host is I can probably give you most of the information.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Example my SMTP server is smtp.gmail.com&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Username is my full Gmail address&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Password is an app password that I created in my Gmail security settings&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Gmail uses TLS encryption&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Port number is 587&lt;/P&gt;
