LBP632Cdw won't connect to wifi

I bought my Canon Color ImageCLASS LBP632Cdw November of 2024. It continuously will disconnect from my wifi unless I turn it off and back on to get it to work. In the last month this has stopped working and it will not connect. I have tried unplugging and restarting my printer, computer, and router. I have tried resetting the printer to factory settings. I've tried disabling the dual band on my wifi. My network comes up but when I type in password, I always get the message "Could not connect. Check the security settings." I'm at my wits end, having to go pay to print at Staples when I need handouts for work. Help!

The printer requires a 2.4Ghz wireless broadcast that supports WPA2 encryption. It's fine to have a dual or tri-band router that supports multiple broadcasts, but one must be 2.4 and WPA2.

Some routers come pre-configured to use the same SSID broadcast name for all bands. Giving each broadcast a unique name can often help. The other thing you can do is temporarily disable the other broadcasts while making a connection to the 2.4 GHz network, then re-enable them. Many new devices also come pre-configured with WPA3 encryption which the printer does not support. You can usually select WPA3/WPA2 for backwards compatibility.

Optional but recommended is to set a static IP address for your Printer on your router. This only has to be done once and ensures persistency. Devices that do not come and go from your network benefit from an assigned or reserved IP address since it doesn't change.

Hey Rick! I have already tried to disable to other broadcast while making a connection to the 2.4 GHz network. It still wouldn't work. What is difficult, is that in the past will sometimes randomly connect and sometimes not and it is unpredictable.

I am not very tech savvy and learning all this as I go. Can you elaborate further on selecting WPA3/WPA2 for backwards compatibility? How do I set a static IP address for my printer on the router? Or can you point me to where I can find this information?
