I ran into this too after moving to Windows 11. Turns out the UFR II driver doesn’t support print preview in some apps. I switched to the Generic Plus driver from Canon’s site and the preview started working again. Might be worth a try!

I had a Windows 10 machine and the print preview worked fine.

After upgrading to Windows 11 (and a new machine) the [Windows 64bit] UFR II Printer Driver V30.30 was installed. Now I get the error "This app doesn't support print preview."

How do I get print preview working again?

Thanks, Eyerah

Greetings,

The issue appears to have been introduced with Windows 11 22H2 and later.

There might be more than one cause to this issue including some or all of the following.

Applications installed in software environment.

Version of print driver. Or possibly the hardware's age, it was released 13 yrs ago.

Solutions.

Use a previous version of the print driver.

Examine the software applications you have installed. I think NotePad++ was listed as one of the apps which caused problems.

You can modify a registry key forcing Windows to use the old version of Print Preview.

Consider purchasing a new device that supports modern operating systems. Although if it worked on Windows 10, I would think it could work in 11 as well.

You can also try Canon Support but I'm not sure If product support is available given its age. You'd have to check your MyCanon acct.

What steps did you take to remove the UFR II driver and which driver did you install instead. I tried to install the GPlus_PCL6_Driver_V320_W64_00 and the print preview still does not show. But I didn't remove the old driver. Can't figure how to do this. Thanks for the help!
