PIXMA MX490 driver needed for MacBook Air running Sequoia 15

Tried to add a Canon Mx490 printer to a MacBook Air running Sequoia 15 but, no deal. Seems that canon has not developed a driver to allow connection. Any word if canon will make a driver available any time soon ?

The PIXMA MX490 is not supported with macOS v15 (Sequoia). You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

The mx490 is about 10 years old.

It might be possible for you to stretch a little more life out of your printer with Sequoia. Functionality may be limited.

Start by assigning it a static IP address on your router. Now add it to your Mac as an IP-based printer. This may allow you to continue using it with basic or limited function while you are identifying your next printer.
