Do you have Windows 11 "S" version? If so, you are limited to installing apps from the Microsoft Store.

See this MS article on what you can do about it, if your situation allows it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-and-windows-11-in-s-mode-faq-851057d6-1ee9-b9e5-c30b-93baebeebc85#windowsversion=windows_11

S-Mode Windows is designed for situations where an administrator of computers (like schools or businesses, for example) don't want users to install undesirable applications.

Why can't/doesn't MS Windows 11 accept the download for printer installation. It says "S" mode will only accept MS apps.

Greetings ,

I personally would take my computer out of S mode, but that is up to you.

Here's another option:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/WebPortal/PTL/ptl-setup_win10s.html?lng=en&type=setup&area=ca&mdl=MG3620&os=w

This is from the printer's user guide.

If you are an individual, on your own personal computer, S Mode is unnecessary. Unless you let other untrustworthy people use it. Or you don't trust yourself.

Hear me out. S-Mode is a lot like an iPhone/iPad. You can't install anything that you're not "supposed to," so it's great for people who aren't tech savvy and want a computer that "just works."

But because Microsoft is Microsoft, nothing is ever that straightforward.

Here is info on what to do for this model. TAP ME
