ij Scan Utility Lite Impossible to Download

I have a Canon MG7520 printer and I want to download and install the ij Scan Utility Lite for Windows 11. Sounds simple, right.

For more than an hour I've been going around in circles trying to find the download I need. Every time I think I found it, I get directed to another page, then another page, then . . .

And, I never see MG7520 mentioned on any of the various pages.

Can someone give me the exact link to the ij Scan Utility Lite download for Windows 11?

I don't see a download for the IJ Scan Utility Lite for the MG7520 and WINDOWS 11.

There is a download for the MP driver and Scan Utility.

That can be found here

I've gone all the way back to W7 and there is no download for IJ Scan Utility Lite. Where are you getting the info you reported?

First, I was able to scan until I got Windows 11.

So, I did a search > Canon MG7520, scan software download. And found ijScan Utility Lite

My next search was for Canon ijScan Utility Lite software because supposedly it's just for scanning documents, which is exactly what I need.

There was numerous answer links, but this is the most prominent answer > To download ijScan Utility Lite for the Canon MG7520, visit the Canon USA Support page. Navigate to the "Software & Drivers" section, select your operating system, and then locate the "IJ Scan Utility Lite" download. You can also download it as part of the Full Driver & Software Package.

I went to the Canon Support page and went from suggested download link to suggested link with no luck.

Hence, my question in the Canon Support Community Support.

Hi John,

I called 800-652-2666, but the auto-lady said she didn’t recognize my phone number, told me to go to canon.usa/account, then disconnected the call. I went to the account website tried to log-in, but I got an error that user/password was wrong, like I didn’t have an account. So, I created an account that says I don’t have any registered products. Even when I entered my printer info it said the serial number was already registered (yeah, by me).

My new account doesn’t have a product registered, and I can’t get access to my original account, which was created November 2015, so when I try to get Tech Support I go to a screen that says, Access Denied.

And, the ijScan Utility Lite software link is provided when I’m logged in, but when I try to download it I’m again taken to a screen that says, Access Denied.

Oh, and by the way, there is no place in the account profile to provide a phone number, so the auto-lady can’t recognize a phone number that doesn’t exist in the account I previously had, or the one I just created. So, I’m no closer to getting the scan software.

This whole issue is just one big boondoggle that Canon couldn’t care less about.

Any further suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I had a thought this morning, so I checked my MacBook. The scanning tool there is IJ Utility Lite. Is the document you are reading directing you to Lite assuming a Mac computer?

Hi,

It shows a ijScan Utility Lite for Windows 11 and Mac. I was trying to download the Window 11 software. I've basically given up trying to use my Canon MG7520 to scan, which is totally annoying. I don't understand why Canon includes the scan feature, then makes it impossible to use. Makes no sense.

I'm a photographer and my main reason buying this Canon in the first place is to print my photographs which I sell. For that purpose it works fantastically because of the various ink colors.

I don't know how either of us can find a solution. I'll just go forward disliking Canon, and when the time comes to replace my current printer it won't be a Canon.

Hiello Tess

The link I provided originally has the printer driver and scan utility. You're getting caught up in semantics. The search terms you use can be interpreted incorrectly by AI so the results it provides may not be 100% accurate. It uses learning algorithms but it isn't perfect. Do you use Siri or Google assistant for voice to text? You say root, the assistant types route.

No one here (including Canon) is trying to keep you from finding what you're looking for. It just doesn't exist.

Registering a second MyCanon account is not going to change this outcome or be helpful for you. None of your previously registered devices will exist there. You'd be better off resetting the password on your old account. It's likely you have forgotten the email address, phone number, etc. that you used or it's credentials. The sales department might be able to help you with this.

I'm not sure why you don't want to use the installer I referenced in my first reply. These are the drivers (print and scan) that Canon provides for your device when used with Windows 11. This is only complicated if you make it so.

We are more than happy to help, but you need to accept the information we're providing to move forward.
