I have exactly the same issue!

mcOS 15.4 / Mac mini M1 | 16GB RAM | 1TB drive / Canon Accounting Manager 1.6.6

Please don't send me on the same wild goose chase you've suggested – I've already spent several nights doing exhaustive searches on the Canon sites, Google & YouTube! There has to be a way for us to specify the "document name" instead of just getting something like "PPL_20250404135548". Come on!

imagePROGRAF PRO-2100 printing and Canon PPL app

The Canon Accounting software started replacing the file name being printed with the internal identifier as the Document name. Any ideas how to get the file names back?

iMac late 2014 MAC OS 11.7.1

As you can see from the screen shot, the PPL software replaced my file names as the Document name. I did not knowingly do anything to change work flow.

This is just a limitation of the 'very basic' Canon Printing Software. I imagine one issue is that some jobs are singular documents i.e. Bald Eagle.tif that are sent singularly and printed as one total job. Others, on larger machines will be a number of images or documents combined on a roll. This way the filename would only be the first filename, unless they added another field to include each one. It is very frustrating indeed having to manually check dates and times between print history and the Accounting Software.
