      <description>&lt;P&gt;I just transitioned to a new computer and when through the usual install of the latest "[Windows 64bit] MF743Cdw/MF741Cdw MFDrivers (Generic Plus UFR II / Generic FAX / ScanGear)"&amp;nbsp; and latest "&lt;SPAN&gt;[Windows 32bit &amp;amp; 64bit] MF Scan Utility Ver.1.21.0.2"&amp;nbsp; However whenever I try to scan from the printer to the device or try to launch ScanGear from the MF Scan Utility on the local computer I get the same "cannot communicate with the scanner" Error as shown below.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I installed the MS Scan app and that works just fine. I can preview and scan just fine so it appears to be an issue with the MF Scan Utility/ScanGear app.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Steps I have taken so far:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I have made sure the apps have exceptions in the firewall&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I have tried turning off the firewall completely with the same result&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Uninstall and reinstall both of the above packages multiple times with reboot after each&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;made sure that&amp;nbsp;Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is set to automatic based on various forum postings&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I can print just fine&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I can scan using the MS Scan App (but I still cannot use the scan to computer feature from the printer)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Fixed IP assigned for both the computer and Printer&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to be able to use this feature again on my new device.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="gonzo070777_0-1731355345662.png" style="width: 400px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/60719i97BD65E61B9CC597/image-size/medium?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="gonzo070777_0-1731355345662.png" alt="gonzo070777_0-1731355345662.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I just had to do a Clean Install of Windows 11 and found too that the MF Scan Utility would not communicate with my MF726Cdw.&amp;nbsp; I even installed (and left it in place) the Windows 10 (x64)&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;[Windows 32-bit &amp;amp; 64-bit] Patch for Network Scan, USB Scan.&amp;nbsp; Still no luck.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;During my Windows 11 re-install, updates also were installed:&amp;nbsp;2024-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5048667) and&amp;nbsp;2024-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5045934).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Still had issues UNTIL...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;An optional Windows update was also posted:&amp;nbsp;2024-11 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5048162) was installed today and voila!!&amp;nbsp; MF Scan Utility now communicates with my MF726Cdw!!&amp;nbsp; It looks like Microsoft fixed something.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you are able to preview using the scan utility, it will usually mean the hardware is working but something is preventing the scanner from saving files on your computer. In this situation, you can try turning off any security software on the computer or disabling the windows security option for controlled folder access. Once disabled, you can try scanning again to see if it saves or if you get the same error message. You can also try changing the save location for the saved scans to see if it helps.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you continue to have issues, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents can check the software and connections to see what is preventing the software from completing the scan and saving to the computer.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
