topic Can't get my PIXMA MG3620 recognized on new Wi-Fi in Printer Software & Networking

Hey there. I hope someone can help me out here. I recently moved and can't get my printer even recognized on my new Wifi. I was using Comcast and I'm now on Verizon Fios. I have an Apply desk top mini, the iOS is Sequoia 15.2. I made sure I had all the updated drivers for the printer. I have also seen on I should be using the 2.4GHz Wifi instead of the 5.0gHz, however the printer does not seem recognized on either of them.

I don't remember it being this difficult the first time I set it up. I don't know if I'm missing a step in the process? All my other devices are running fine on the Wifi. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Oh, and please spell it out for me like I've never seen a computer before. It's not that I haven't and I'm usually able to figure these things out but when I can't and I get frustrated, I usually need things really simplified for me.

Thank you in advance.

Hi szwakdy,

The PIXMA MG3620 can only connect to 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi networks. Also, the PIXMA MG3620 is not compatible with WPA3. If WPA3 is enabled on the 2.4Ghz network in which you are attempt to connect, please log into your router and change it to WPA2.

Once your wireless network is using the 2.4Ghz frequency and is using WPA2, you can then connect your PIXMA MG3620 to your Wi-Fi using one of the methods below:

Cableless Setup - MG3620

Using WPS to Connect Wirelessly - MG3620

Thank you for taking the time to reply. As I noted in my original message I am using the 2.4Ghz. I only tried the 5.0 just in case it worked but I’m using 2.4. I am also using WPA2. I’ve tried both of those methods you linked to and neither have worked.

Hi szwakdy,

Thanks for getting back to us. So You are trying to connect to a 2.4 GHz broadcast that uses WPA2 encryption. That should be perfect.

When you're performing cableless setup, does the software see your broadcast. Can you select it? What is failing "not working", are you seeing an error message, and if so what is it please?

I can’t remember what it actually says but in short it’s not recognizing the printer. It searches for a while and then displays a message the printer can’t be found. I don’t remember the exact wording of the error message but it said I would have to try a set up with the cable.

Are you using a cell phone to perform cableless setup? If so, is it Android? or iPhone?

Thank you to those who tried to help. I eventually got it to connect. I'm not sure what worked. It happened as I was running the set up program for the umpteenth time. Not sure why it finally worked. Thank you all again for your time.
