SELPHY CP1500 app won't communicate with printer

I have connected my Selphy 1500 to my home router at 2.4GHz. All menus and displays indicated that the printer is connected. When sending a pic through my phone app, it asks to connect to the defult WiFi provided by the printer. How do I change this and send pics through the app. Thanks
