Good news. I can print from any device.

Bad news. Cannot network scan...

Well, I have spent more time than I care to trying to get my MF753C printer/scanner to scan to a win 11 PC. This all started with a new Xmas laptop gift. Unfortunately, the Canon software (master setup or MF Scan utility) software does not work on ARM CPU processors. Attempting to install multiple times and researching this online wasted a good 4 or 5 hours. I have seen the posts here (including mine) on this topic. I hope Canon will fix this for ImageCLASS printers like they have for the PIXMA line.

In search of a workaround.....

First up, I consider using the Send Setup method (or add a favorite in address book, using the printer web UI) to scan a file to the new ARM Win 11 computer using SMB protocol, win 11 device name, and network path. Well, after another 4 or 5 hours and 10+ permutations of computer name with/without \\ in front, using IP address of computer, multiple permutations for the network folder, adding share permissions, turning off firewall, turning off anti virus, and a few reboots in between all of these steps - no luck.

Next up. I move on to another idea. I will install the MF Scan utility on another . I would use an older Win11 laptop I have as a "Scan Server", add the appropriate MS OneDrive account to that laptop, define the path correctly in the MF Scan Utility - easy-peasy, right? WRONG.... To my amazement, I go to the printer, load a test page for scanning, select Scan, see computer I just installed MF Scan utility on, select Scan after selecting computer - nothing happens with the page loaded. I glance over at the computer and a Windows Pop Up window occurs with Network connection error by the scanner. Apparently, this may be related to the recent MS win11 OS release 24H2.

Coming to this forum, I found others having these same issues, though some say they have both above methods working -- not me and I am not a novice with technology.

Up next for a workaround.... I have an even older Intel NUC running Win 10 as a utility device to run a Power UPS program for a UPS in my network closet. I will attempt to install the MF Scan Utility here, install OneDrive so the scans show up in the actual ARM laptop. If this does not work, I still have an Apple macOS and even a Linux machine. What a PITA!!!! Canon, please get these issues resolved!!! 1. Canon software to install and run on ARM based computers running MS Windows 11, and 2. Provide a fix or script to fix the problem with scanning to Win 11 device (non ARM CPU).
