&lt;P&gt;Microsoft has released a patch which is said to address the scanning failures windows 11 users are experiencing after feature release 24H2 is applied.&amp;nbsp; Many people have reported issues using ScanGear and the MF Scan Utility.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;KB5048667 should download automatically from Windows Update.&amp;nbsp; If you want to apply the patch manually, you can visit the Windows Update Catalog, download the run the patch yourself.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The issue is still not resolved by any of the patches issued by Microsoft. Not the ~667 one and not by the .NET patch some are speculating about.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tested for countless hours in the recent days and still having issues. Identical system of Windows 11 23H2 works, but on clean installed Windows 11 24H2 it does not work no matter what tricks we have tried on 100s of Canon printers, mostly C1127i, C1333i, MF744Cdw, MF443dw, MF463dw, even some older MF411dw across multiple organizations and multiple IT admins.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;I am 100% sure and tested its nothing to do with some policies or security software, as those printers (with latest FW, checked) does not connect to scanner even on multiple of my personal devices which are clean installed, and also tried multiple 24H2 VMs - same error "Cannot communicate with the scanner".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tried everything, even disabling firewall, making sure services are working and even comparing registry keys between 24H2 and 23H2 installs to find out whats wrong with 24H2.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Maybe there is someone here who can actually get a real human at Canon to look into this, as the support does not understand this and wants to exchange the device instead, but it's not the device issue, it's a software issue.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Have 3 PC's here, 2 laps, 1 desk.&amp;nbsp; All 3 already had the 24h2 update already installed (12/10/24).&amp;nbsp; None will connect to the Canon scanner (printing is fine). I also removed the 24H2 and tried scanner - no-go.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Uninstalled win update, re-installed it.&amp;nbsp; Uninstalled the canon drivers &amp;amp; re-installed.&amp;nbsp; No change in symptoms&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Curious is that we also have a monochrome "Brother" printer/scanner. 1 laptop will scan when initiated from the printer, but not from the PC. Neither of the other 2 will connect to the Brother either.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Both printer/scanners had been working with the 3 PC's for quite some time.&amp;nbsp;The desk &amp;amp; 1 laptop were recently refreshed software wise - fresh win11 &amp;amp; apps re-installed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm convinced it is a MS Windows issue - hope it get resolved SOON!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Bob&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Reading the last entry - without any more re-installs, i simply tried the MS Scan app (windows Store download) and that app works for both my Canon &amp;amp; Brother printer/scanners.&amp;nbsp; A bit less function, but can scan again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Still want Canon to get with it and fix their software!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Bob&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Any news on an actual fix? I've a new build 24h2 Pro that won't see the mf216n scanner. Printing is fine. Another 24H2 upgrade likewise can print but not see the scanner. Apps see no scanner. Device Manager doesn't show one. The box had been Win 10 and all worked fine.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Why doesn't Canon have a page about this???? I understand this is likely a MS foul up, but no page with updates????&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;As of today (February 27th, 2025) Windows 24H2 still causes scanner failure.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Additionally, this appears to be happening with other scanner manufactures, not just Canon.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Clearly a Windows problem.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;There is absolutly no way that SOMEONE that works for Microsoft hasn't also experienced this and reported it, which means MS doesn't give 2 sh*ts about its consumers and figures we will just have to wait until they are ready to release a fix.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":disappointed_face:"&gt;😞&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
