I have a Canon Imageclass MF232w that had been working great on my Windows 10 Dell Inspiron 15.

I had MF Scan Utility version 1.2.0.0 installed and it worked great.

I recently upgraded computer to new Dell Inspiron 15 Windows 11 and installed MF230SeriesMFDriverV520WPusEN.exe

The printer prints and appears to be properly installed.

However Scanner settings Hardware properties say:

“Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45). To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.”

Of course the device is connected because I am able to print.

I then installed winmfscanutilityv12102.exe

When I try to scan I get the following message:

“Cannot communicate to the scanner. The cable may be disconnected or the scanner is turned off.”

The cable is connected, and the scanner is turned on. Again, I am able to print.

I tried to remedy by fully uninstalling driver and software leaving no traces.

Then I reinstalled and got the same result.

I am wondering if there is a patch forthcoming to the drivers and MF scan software so I can use as I did previously under Windows 10.

Please Help. Thank You.

Greetings,

What feature release of Windows 11 are you running? This is likely related to windows 11 feature release 24H2. Microsoft has acknowledged a scanner communication issue with this update. It affects multiple manufacturers.
