Greetings,

Probably noting to worry about. Just to clarify things. The MF628Cw supports 2.4Hhz wireless that uses WPA2 / AES encryption.

Your new 6G router will have 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz backwards compatibility. It might also support WPA3 encryption, so make sure you enable WPA3/WPA2 for backwards compatibility.

I have a triband router as well. It's supports WiFi6, 5 and 2.4. WPA3 and WPA2.

if you have a technician coming to your home, ask them to help ensure you have a 2.4Ghz broadcast that uses WPA2 for the printer.

Make sure the technician shows you how to log into the router and gives you the credentials for it too. This is not the wireless password. Ask for the credentials to log in and administer the device.

StarHub is coming to upgrade my LINKSYS router to their latest BroadbandTV Nokia router. The excitement is wifi 6. the apprehension is the settings change to connect the household members' devices - mobile phones, notebooks, ipads.

MF628cw was bought years ago (2019?) and manual long gone. Canon Singapore not primed to service home-based business MF printers. Any advices from Forum Members or Canon Singapore. I am 73 years old and a bit overwhelmed by all these

Chee Seng

Thanks Rick. It is techwords like WPA, IPv4 or IPv6 that got me flummoxed. Over here, the broadbandTV technicians focus on getting TV running. Devices like my MF626cw they leaves it to Canon. Problem is Canon SG consider MF628cw a business printer, so no onsite service. The last time (2019) it took me weeks of to-and-fro and $$$ to get it right. That is why I was ambivalent about upgrading.

But hey. Thanks for reassuring me. Hope all will go well. CS
