Hello, wondering if you ever got resolution to your problem? I picked up the same printer recently, and can't get my network to recognize it fully since. I'm running Windows 11; I can add the device in my Printers and Scanners screen but it states it's offline, whether I'm on ethernet or WiFi. The device states it has connectivity to WiFi on the touchscreen, but I get the following error in device properties:
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)"

If I have it connected via USB, can install drivers, print, and use the machine as intended. The moment I remove USB, it ceases to connect to my computer- suggesting a network issue. However, I can log into the remote UI and view the machine status. Interested if anyone has experienced the same issue? I'm considering returning the printer, as I can't use it on USB for 90% of it's use cases.

There was another discussion before about this same issue. However, there was never any answers posted other than the basic Check Knowledge Base. I have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I just bought the ImageclassMF654Cdw. I completed the network setup on the printer and I'm trying to install the software and driver. But the CD software does not detect the printer when installing as wireless network. Here is what if done:

Confirmed the TCP/IP settings under IPv4, address is 192.168.0.176, matching my network
Checked my network settings and I have the IPv4 protocol installed
Confirmed Network Discovery and File Printer sharing are enabled
Tried both adding Canon setup to firewall exceptions and Disable Firewall entirely, restarting computer as necessary
Tried Run as Administrator when starting setup
Disabled Secondary ethernet port
Verified printer was on network by downloading firmware update via internet directly from printer
Downloaded recent driver install from Canon site
Turned off Windows Defender, there is no anti-virus software installed
Changed Power Sleep to 60 mins

The printer works via USB, Windows detects the printer on the network, I can view the Device Webpage and can install using Add Printer/Scanner in Windows Device Settings. By doing this I can printer with no issues. I have also tried the Easy Connection via PC. When the printer restarts, it shows the IPv4 address is 0.0.0.0 which will not work. If I leave the printer in normal operating mode and run the Canon Laser NW Device Setup Utility, it will detect the printer, status shows Reconfiguration of Settings Required and tells me it has to be in Easy Connection. As soon as I switch the printer to Easy Config it's no longer detected. I tried Add Port during GPlus UFRII Driver. But when I install the scanner software it does not detect the printer.

How can I get the Canon software installed and the printer working over wireless? Do I install the printer thru Windows and use the Microsoft version of Fax and Scan?

Hello,

The MFscan utility will usually have two connections for the scanner. One connection will be the USB option and the other will be for the network. In the MF scan utility, you can check the selected scanner at the top of the window. Check to make sure it is set to the MF654(network). If it is not selected, you can switch to the network option and try a scan. If the network option does not appear, it looks like the network setup did not complete properly. If you have already downloaded the latest version of the scan utility and drivers, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666.

I have been successful with one laptop, an HP. On the second laptop, a Dell, absolutely no luck despite following the guidance above and the same process. Tried searching for the printer, entering the IP address and the printer simply does not show up. Installed the drivers via USB connection but still can't get the printer to appear on the network. It's rather frustrating and would welcome any suggestions.
