PIXMA: MG6220: Unable to obtain printer driver

I have a PIXMA MG6220 printer which has worked fine for many years. I now have a brand new desktop computer and I am unable to find a driver for Windows 11. I tried to download the Windows 10 driver, but that failed. I have owned about 5 or 6 Canon printers over the years. If I can't use the MG6220 anymore, I will not be getting another Canon. There are many other brands.

The PIXMA MG6220 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers driver, content updates and direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions.

No drivers for Windows 11 will be released for the MG6220. The device is EOL.

The Windows 10 drivers should work just fine however with windows 11. You said you tried to download the windows 10 drivers, but this failed. Does this mean you didn't actually try them?

The MG6220 is 13 yrs old. Canon has continued to support the device for well over 10 yrs. I believe the Windows 10 drivers will work, but you'll need to try them.

There is also a 16bit XPS driver which utilizes the printers additional color depth capability.

You may also want to consider a shiny new printer to compliment your shiny new desktop. After more that 10 yrs. I'm sure you've gotten an above average rate of return on your investment.
