So even though my printer works just fine, I can no longer use the scanner function? That is a huge disappointment. "Planned obsolescence" is such garbage.

Hello. I have a Pixma MG7120 printer/scanner, and a Mac running iOS Sonoma 14.1. The computer is new, and I cannot figure out how to install the driver to be able to scan. When I try to scan via the printer, it says "Set the PC to start scanning" but I cannot figure out how to do this. On my previous Mac, I had to open "Canon IJ Scan Utility" from the computer and scan that way. However, that driver is no longer showing up on the available software for my computer on the Canon page. I no longer have the original CD for the software (nor does the computer have a CD drive to even use it). Please help!

Changes were made to macOS and the way it interacts with devices. It wasn't up to us. A lot has changed with technology over the last decade.

Greetings,

Have you tried using Image Capture?

OSX Catalina was the last supported operating system.

There is one other option. VueScan by Hamrick software. Its free to try. It will likely work with your printer, which is 11 yrs old now.
