Hello Folks,

I own a mf656cdw multi-functional printer/scan/fax/copier and was trying to have it fully operational under Linux (Slackware current of 15.0).

After a few attempts was able to configure the printer (both through usb and network) by installing and tweaking linux-UFRII-drv-v580-us-05.tar.gz.

But, so far, the system could not recognize the scanner after having installed scangearmp2 (scangearmp2-source-4.50-1.tar.gz). Using traditional linux tools (sane-find-scanner, xsane, scanimage -L) was not successful either.

Any input would be appreciated.
