MF212W software/firmware updates

I bought a MF212W several years ago. I have not downloaded any updates. Should I go ahead and download all updates? I certainly don't want to screw up my printer, as I use it on a daily basis. The biggest problem I have is that the scanning software creates PDF files that are an older version that some companies I deal with can't use them.

You can check what the updates do. sometimes they support later OS versions that may not apply to you.

Thanks. I guess I will have to trudge through them all. I wish they would try to describe them in a way that is more understandable for the user who is not a gearhead.
