I'm looking for Windows 11 for iP4820 and https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-ip4820 says the device has been retired bla bla bla. I want to know if anyone had any luck making it work on Win11.

(So frustrating to see the device unusable on Win11. Canon should do a better job on device support.)

Greetings ,

Respectfully, this printer is 13 years old. The product/support lifecycle for most manufacturers is 10 years. Apple, Brother, HP, Epson, etc don't typically support their hardware after 10 yrs either. So this is not uncommon.

Have you tried the windows 10 drivers? They will often work under Windows 11 just fine. Try these first. In some cases, however, older hardware cannot be made to work with newer software architectures.

Canon also has a upgrade program for products which have reached end of life. You can purchase a new printer at a discount and get free shipping. Here's the information if you'd like to take advantage of the program.

Canon Sales / Upgrade
Canon Upgrade Specialists at 1-866-443-8002

[Update] I hooked up the printer to a different Win11 laptop and the Win10 driver is working. I don't know if it was 100% the other machine's problem but at least the Win10 driver seems to be working on some machines.
