topic TS3450 Signal Strength & Link Quality problem in Printer Software & Networking

Just set-up a new TS3450 and had printing issues talking to the unit via WiFi, all setting seemed correct but after running diagnostics saw that Signal Strength was at 33% and 36% for link quality. Router was in same room about 2M away and WiFi was verified as good.

After much experimenting and web searching I found that several people had issues with the router being in too close proximity to the printer although usually this was less than 2M. I moved the printer to another room and sat that the SS was 84% and 98% link quality, so some sort of signal degradation or interference when located under 4M from the router. Router is a Sky supplied unit 2.4GHz.
