Can someone please help me figure out how to connect my printer to a macbook computer?

I have tried, and still have not figured out how to do it.

Is your printer the PIXMA iX6820 instead? So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know which macOS version. How are you connecting and what error message? I did mean a pixma iX6820. The version is a 11.7.3. I downloaded the installation, but I cannot open the set up disk in the file.
