Canon MG5420 Printer - No drivers? (Scan utility?)

I am pretty sure the MG5420 had software when we first installed it a few years ago.

Now I go to the Canon website and the main driver package is nowhere to be found, only their Image Garden software and something else insignificant.

I cannot find the Scan Utility software either.

What gives?

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MG5420 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support or updated software for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

If windows 10/11, USB or Wireless:

If MAC, the printer does not need drivers, but will only operate with limited functionality.

So you are telling me no more drivers for this printer from Canon anymore? I have seen tons of old models still have drivers available on your site, what do you mean, why would you take driver software OUT and leave in all the other useless software?

According to the description included with the download, it does.

File Description

IJ Scan Utility: The software that allows you to easily scan photos, documents, etc. IJ Network Tool: The software that performs the setup for printing in the network connection. I just spent hours trying to get my mg5420 to work on my new laptop to scan. I finally remembered that I had the CD given when I bought the computer. It took at least 20 minutes to install, but I'm back in business. Canon used to have excellent customer support. Now, as I'm sure you've realized, it's the opposite. Can I mail you a copy (if I can make one) of the CD?
