topic ScanGear needs an upgrade in Printer Software & Networking

ScanGear really needs an overhaul. While I appreciate the fact that Canon has updated the software to run natively on Apple Silicon, they really did the bare minimum here. ScanGear still gives rather low res grainy previews before the full resolution scan and it really shows. And the inability to zoom in on previews is a bummer as well. In addition, FARE needs an upgrade as well since aftermarket scanning software gives much better results for infrared cleaning. I honestly wouldn't care much if VueScan was easier to use, but that software is rather complex for getting everything adjusted properly compared to ScanGear. Plus, VueScan costs money.
