Pro 1000 printer and Canon Print Studio Pro with Photo Shop cc

I installed Photo Print Sutdio Pro on my Canon Pro 1000 printer and it opens from my Photo Shop cc latest uipdate program fine. I would like to know what are features if any it offers beyond what printing direclty from Photo Shop does. I was hoping it would act as a stand alone option for printing but evidently it doesn't work that way or am I missing something?

Thanks Wuckerters. It works fine with PS but i was hoping it also would work as a stand alone printer interface....guess not.

For the Pro-1000 Canon offers Professional Print & Layout which is standalone.
