Canon SELPHY CP 1500 - Cannot connect iphone via Selphy Layout App to the printer

Hi, I need assistance on connecting my phone to the printer.

Have tried all the methods of connection in the past 3 hours- and has been unsuccessful:

(1) Via Selphy Layout app on iphone

(2) via direct connection

(3) via Wifi Router (likely since I am 5mghz)

I just received this new printer, and would require assistance asap to advise what the potential issue is and how to resolve.
