Hello Brantly04,

The issue looks like it could be caused by poor network communication or by security software on the new computer blocking the connections. If you can scan using the windows service but get an error when using our software, I would suggest trying to disable any security software running on the computer and then trying a scan. You can also try power cycling your router to see if you are able to scan afterwards. If that does not resolve the issue, you can also check the top of the MF scan utility to see if it is set to the MF260 or the MF260 series network to make sure it is set to the connection type.

Security software can also prevent our setup from finding the printer over your network. I would suggest reinstalling our software while your security is turned off to see if that resolves the install issue as well.

If you are still unable to finish the install or scan from your computer, I would suggest contacting support at 1-800-652-2666, our agents would be happy to assist.

I have an MF264DW and never had any issues in the past connecting to it through my wifi network.

I had to get a new computer with windows 11 the other day and downloaded the canon software to install on the new computer.

The software will not detect the printer during wifi setup. I’ve confirmed it’s on the network and even tried detecting it via it’s IP address to no avail.

I find ur strange it worked on the network with my old computer but is now un detectable.

the printer is in a cabinet and would hate to have to usb it every time.

please help!

I now can’t get the cannon scan utility to work. It says the printer is off when it is not. I have to use windows scan with usb plugged in for it to scan.
