Hello MichelleP12,

To use the MX340 with an Android device. The phone will need to be on the same wireless network as the printer and you will need to have our Canon Print service installed. You can download and install the Print Service from the Google Play store and it is a free app.

Once you have the service installed, you will need to go into settings on your phone and under printing, you will need to make sure the Canon print service is turned on. Once it is on, you can try printing from your phone to see if it can find the Canon printer.

Hi, MichelleP12,

We’re happy to help get your MX340 to show on your network. To begin troubleshooting, I recommend disabling the ipv6 settings on your printer. This is a step that can sometimes resolve a printer not being detected on a network. I’m including a link to our knowledge base HERE that has a guide to follow on how to do this. Once ipv6 has been disabled, please try to reinstall the printer on your computer to see if it will connect.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, I’d like to check the signal strength of your printer's connection. Please click HERE for the steps to print the network settings of the printer and then reply with the signal strength listed. Once we have that, we can figure out what the next steps would be.

Did this answer your question? Please click the Accept as Solution button so that others may find the answer as well.

The Canon doesn't even show in the printer list, but my brother's does--and it's been long unplugged in the basement.

I can't find a way to delete his, OR add the Canon by its IP address.

Galaxy Note 9.Verizon. Suddenlink
