My Powershot SX410 IS does not beep when focusing.

I have all the sounds in maximum from the menu but still no beep when focusing as the manual says. The camera is brand new

I think it will only beep when in Tracking AF mode, see if that works or have you already?

I've done it and it doesn't beep. Furthermore the manual says it should beep (twice) when focusing in every mode.

Ok well since its new you can call Canon direct and they can help you. I looked thru your manual for a cause and I just looked again and searched for the word "beep" and your right it should beep for a few functions the only other thing I saw is maybe you have the mute turned on but I bet you checked that too.

First of all thank you so much John for trying to help. As you imagined my camera was not on mute. How do you think I should contact Canon about it?
