Hello. I'm an amateur moviemaker trying to enter de digital wave. I've chosen to go to DSLR cinema but it is not affordable for me at this time so looking for a good alternative to start I found a very good and cheap offer of an almost new SX 280 Powershot. After reading many reviews and forums I found out that everyone likes this camera as an entry point but at the same time claims about a well known battery drain problem shooting vifdeo. As you already know a camera can be more than an hour at a time ON during shooting, so my questions are:

Is that problem real?

Was that problem solved tecnnically speaking?

Is there any workaround to operate this camera shooting video long time?

If I adapt an external powerfull battery of 4V 1,6Amp. and connect it to the camera, will it be drained the same way or it can be the solution?

Is there another Canon camera with the same features without baterry problems arpound the same price?

Thanks to all for your answers.

Marcelo
