Camera only records 10 seconds

Hey everybody,

Recently when I'm recording the camera only records for 10 seconds. After which, a green light flashes to left of the menu button and a hand is displayed on the screen? Not sure how to fix it or what is wrong. I reformatted the card which is 29mb's of space and it didn't fix it?

The camera is a powershot A4000 IS

Thanks for posting.

The card you are using may not be fast enough for video shooting. If the card cannot write data at a constant speed that is fast enough, the buffer in the camera will fill up quickly and the camera will stop recording.

What specific brand, speed and capacity card are you using?
Also, have you tried other cards in the camera?
