Using NB-8L Battery in IXUS-125 instead of (as well as) the NB-11L?

Hi,

Apart from the higher capacity rating of the NB-8L, is there any major difference between this model of Battery and the NB-11L that comes with the IXUS 125? I have several spares of the 8L, so hence wondering if I could use them in this camera as well.

The 8L is not listed as compatable but it is the same voltage with a higher capacity. If it physically fits properly it will work. Make sure the pins/contacts are in the same position just by looking at it and measuring before putting it in.

Thanks. Since I wrote the post, I was wondering about whether the difference in capacity would make the battery level indicator in the camera read incorrectly. I presume the 3rd pin on the battery is to do with capacity level?
