topic Re: Can anyone please tell me what the read/write speed for the Powershot G-16 is? in Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

Thank You, Smack53 for your information...

I think if I use a 90MB/s read/write SDHC card I will have enough speed to handle any situtations I come up against, from inflight birds to slow moving landscapes.

Seems like Canon is keeping this information close to their vest, like a trade secret that cannot be given out. I reviewed the Users Manual also and did not see the speed listed.

Don't know the read/write speeds, but the G16 uses SD/SDHC/SDXC and UHS-I Memory Cards, and since the UHS-I is listed, the camera is fairly quick. The USB to computer connection is to USB 3 standard if I'm not mistaken, so downloads to the computer are also quick. Unfortunately, the Canon website and user manual does not give the information that you are looking for.

Smack53
