topic Camera Window DC8 and ImageBrowser not picking up memory card reader in Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

I have a Powershot SX1IS. I was able to load the memory card into my computer's built in memory card reader slot and Zoombrowser would automatically come up so I could upload my photos. I was also able to delete any images I did not want on the memory card after previewing them. I now have Windows 8 and thought I should update my Zoombrowser, and after checking the Canon drivers/software website for updates, assumed I should delete my Zoombrowser, add ImageBrowser and update my Camera Window to version DC8. After downloading, I was able to upload from my memory card reader once and any time I tried after that, I had to use a USB cable and my camera. The software is unable to pick up the memory card reader and I am not able to manage my files on the memory card directly.

What happened and what should I do to get back the versatility and speed that Zoombrowser gave me? Is Zoombrowser still available?
